The Symphonic Band represents the pinnacle of musical achievement within our band program. Comprising of exceptionally talented and dedicated musicians, this is our most advanced ensemble, where students delve into challenging and sophisticated repertoire.

Members of the Symphonic Band refine their technical skills, deepen their musical understanding, and cultivate a highly cohesive ensemble sound. These students consistently demonstrate a commitment to excellence, pushing the boundaries of middle school performance and frequently earning accolades such as superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluations. Being part of the Symphonic Band signifies a high level of musicianship, maturity, and a passion for creating impactful musical experiences.

Members of the Symphonic Band are chosen by Mr. English at the end of 6th Grade and 7th Grade, and will be in that band for the next school year. 

The Concert Band is a dynamic ensemble composed of 7th and 8th-grade students who are continuing their musical journey from the Beginning Band. Numbering around 100 dedicated musicians, this band serves as a crucial bridge for students, further developing their instrumental proficiency and ensemble skills. Members of the Concert Band delve into a more diverse and challenging repertoire, refining their technique, musicality, and ability to perform cohesively as a large group. It's a space where students solidify their fundamental understanding and passion for music, preparing them for potential advancement to the Symphonic Band.

Members of the Concert Band are chosen by Mr. English at the end of 6th Grade and 7th Grade, and will be in that band for the next school year. 

The Pep Band is a vibrant and energetic ensemble that brings the spirit of the FMMS Band directly to the sidelines and school events! This group ignites school pride with thrilling performances at football games and rallies. Beyond the concert hall, the Pep Band provides an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their talents in a lively, spirited setting, uniting our musical passion with unwavering school spirit. Pep Band prepares students with a foundation of performing at sporting events that prepares them to join the Houston County High School Black and Silver Brigade Marching Band. 

Beginning Band is the exciting starting point for all our 6th-grade students, no prior experience necessary! With approximately 120 eager young musicians, this is where students embark on their musical journey, choosing an instrument and learning the fundamentals from scratch. Under expert guidance, the Beginning Band provides a supportive and engaging environment where new skills are developed, friendships are formed, and the magic of making music together truly begins.
