The Feagin Mill Middle School (FMMS) Band Booster Executive Committee (or FMMS Band Boosters for short) is a dedicated group of parents committed to fostering a vibrant and thriving music program for all our students. As a parent-run organization, our mission is clear: to support the Feagin Mill Middle School music program by partnering with like-minded individuals and businesses in our community.

The FMMS band program attracts bright and dedicated students eager to excel. Our rigorous music education instills invaluable life lessons such as self-discipline, teamwork, goal setting, and achievement. It also provides students with significant leadership opportunities, as well as chances to travel and perform for various audiences.

We understand that music programs are expensive, and public funding for the arts has seen drastic reductions in recent years. While the national conversation often shifts toward standardized testing and technological initiatives, we believe it's crucial not to lose sight of the programs that develop students as whole individuals. Music education is vital; it stimulates brain growth, improves mood, fosters positive social development, teaches cooperation and leadership, instills discipline and hard work, and builds the ability to perform under pressure. It develops the whole person and equips students for a lifetime of success.

For our music program to truly excel, our students need comprehensive support, including quality instruments, dedicated volunteers, and enriching experiences that challenge and reward them. Providing quality instruments is a significant expense, as even used instruments can cost thousands of dollars, a sum most families cannot afford. While our public school entities do what they can, the reality is that music programs must be resourceful and maintain ongoing, robust fundraising efforts to ensure consistent and adequate funding.

Our support extends beyond financial contributions to social and emotional well-being. Band often becomes a second family for our musicians—a safe space where they can be themselves, find support during challenging times, and receive encouragement to succeed. We are passionate about music education because it develops the whole person and equips students for a lifetime of success.
